Job Purpose
The Communications and Public Relations Officer will be instrumental in enhancing the international visibility of the WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil's Global Innovation Hub for Regenerative School Meals. This role focuses on translating complex technical evidence into compelling global narratives, managing the dissemination of over 15 knowledge products across various platforms. The objective is to significantly increase the traction of regenerative school meal models among governments, media, and strategic partners. Additionally, the officer will provide specialized services to support content creation, maintain and enhance WFP's reputation, and contribute to fundraising activities by effectively communicating the Hub's impact and the importance of sustainable school meal systems.
Responsibilities
The Communications and Public Relations Officer will be instrumental in enhancing the international visibility of the Global Innovation Hub for Regenerative School Meals. This role involves translating complex technical evidence into compelling global narratives to promote the Hub's regenerative school meal models among governments, media, and strategic partners. Key responsibilities include developing and executing an international strategy to position the Hub as a leader in regenerative food systems, managing relationships with international stakeholders, and overseeing the editorial content production. This includes creating policy recommendations, case studies, and video tutorials, and ensuring the user-centered dissemination of knowledge products through various formats. The officer will also manage the Hub's visibility at high-level events, prepare communication materials, and collaborate with technical specialists to document field successes. Additionally, the role supports the drafting of narrative and evaluation reports, ensuring data is communicated effectively through storytelling. The position requires a strong understanding of socio-political contexts, strategic writing abilities for international audiences, and proficiency in digital communication tools. The goal is to support the achievement of Zero Hunger by 2030 by scaling validated regenerative practices in school meal systems globally.
Work Experience
Requires at least 6 years of progressive work experience in institutional communication, international journalism, or Public Relations, with a specific focus on sustainable development.
