Job Purpose
The Community Liaison Assistant will support the "Strengthening Livelihoods and Life Fabrics" project, focusing on improving the climate change resilience and food security of indigenous and rural communities in the Colombian Amazon. This role involves accompanying technical, functional, and governance diagnostics of community water and sanitation systems to identify infrastructure status, service access gaps, and local operational capacities. The assistant will support community strengthening, formulate technical and social recommendations, and implement Nature-Based Solutions, value chains, and gender mainstreaming actions within beneficiary communities. The position requires acting as a technical liaison, participating in community and technical spaces, collecting and analyzing field data, monitoring partner performance, and reporting on project progress and findings.
Responsibilities
The Community Liaison Assistant will act as a technical liaison with territorial entities, facilitating the implementation of adaptation measures and resilience strategies. This role involves participating in community spaces and territorial technical tables, articulating actions with local actors, and integrating traditional knowledge. The assistant will support the collection, systematization, and analysis of field information for project monitoring and evaluation, producing monthly technical reports. They will conduct field follow-ups on the technical and operational performance of partners, ensuring compliance with standards, schedules, and quality of interventions. Additionally, the role supports strengthening water committees and community structures, analyzing local operation and maintenance capacities, and proposing practical adjustments to community management models. Responsibilities include gathering field information on water and sanitation systems, evaluating existing infrastructure, assessing water availability, quantity, and quality, and identifying gaps in sanitation. The assistant will provide technical input for the contracting and supervision of implementing partners and consolidate field technical reports with findings and recommendations. Other related technical activities within the scope of field operations are also expected.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of three years of field experience in rural water and sanitation projects, community development, or environmental management.
