Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Programme Policy Consultant will be responsible for ensuring WFP programmes in Togo are coherent and aligned with national and UN development frameworks. This involves liaising with regional and headquarters offices for guidance and implementing lessons learned. Key accountabilities include leading and developing a diverse team, formulating WFP programme plans, and providing expert advice on policy and operational matters. The consultant will also lead the mobilization of technical expertise for program design, facilitate innovative approaches, and support government efforts to reduce hunger and malnutrition. Strengthening strategic partnerships with government and NGOs, enhancing WFP's leadership in food security forums, and contributing to resource mobilization through proposal development are crucial. Collaboration with other UN agencies, ensuring sound monitoring systems, and managing financial resources effectively are also key responsibilities. The role requires incorporating gender and protection perspectives, contributing to emergency preparedness, and ensuring timely delivery of food assistance. Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring humanitarian or development programs with international organizations. Must have a proven record of supervising diverse teams in complex environments and expertise in efficient resource management (budgets, assets). The role also demands the ability to communicate with communities and negotiate with governments and partners.
