Organizational Context

WFP in Honduras works to address hunger and poverty by promoting livelihoods and human capital, collaborating with the government and partners. Present since 1970, WFP reaches approximately 1.5 million beneficiaries annually, maintaining a strong field presence across multiple offices. The role supports the Partnerships Officer, requiring initiative and judgment in daily operations.

Job Purpose

The Programme Associate (Partnerships) will provide specialized support in developing and implementing partnership and resource mobilization strategies. This role is crucial for securing funding and strengthening relationships with donors and external stakeholders. The incumbent will contribute to drafting high-quality funding proposals, analyzing funding opportunities, and ensuring alignment with WFP's country strategic objectives and donor priorities. Key responsibilities include supporting donor engagement, coordinating with internal units for seamless implementation, and processing contribution agreements. The position requires strong analytical, strategic writing, and coordination skills to effectively manage partnerships and contribute to WFP's mission of saving lives and changing lives.

Responsibilities

The role involves providing comprehensive technical support and specialized project management for various activities and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and guidelines. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed reports and data analyses on aspects like food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance, while maintaining high corporate standards. Accurate and timely data recording for programs, food security assessments, and vulnerability analyses is crucial, ensuring consistent information for stakeholders. Collaboration with internal counterparts and external partners, including local agencies, NGOs, and government institutions, is essential for effective implementation, monitoring, and accurate food security analysis to ensure efficient food assistance delivery. The position also supports capacity building for WFP staff, partners, and national governments, acting as a primary point of contact for operational queries and problem resolution. Additionally, it requires overseeing and guiding support staff to meet objectives and deadlines, and adhering to emergency preparedness practices for rapid response. Further responsibilities may include leading the development of funding proposals, supporting donor engagement and representation, conducting funding opportunity analysis, and coordinating with various units to ensure consistency between donor requirements and operational implementation, including the processing of contribution agreements and grant management.

Work Experience

The role requires demonstrated experience in donor engagement, resource mobilization, and coordinating funding proposals, donor reports, and contribution agreements within humanitarian or development settings. Candidates must have experience liaising with senior management, government officials, donors, and external partners in high-level or sensitive situations. Strong analytical, strategic writing, and stakeholder coordination skills are essential, along with experience working in international, multicultural environments and coordinating diverse stakeholders across different organizational levels.
