Job Purpose
The IT Operations Associate will coordinate and guide colleagues, manage projects, and oversee maintenance and support activities within Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This role ensures the effective delivery of IT services, adhering to organizational policies, including IT security and data protection. The Associate acts as the technical lead for the core IT services team, collaborating with Digital Transformation, various service units, end-users, and other WFP offices to understand organizational needs and develop system requirements aligned with priorities and criticality. Responsibilities include system and equipment maintenance, ensuring technology reliability, analyzing data for informed decision-making, resolving IT queries, providing training, and supporting the implementation of new applications to enhance staff productivity.
Responsibilities
The role involves comprehensive IT system and equipment maintenance, including specialized network supervision and system protection, to ensure optimal technology functionality. Key responsibilities include monitoring technology reliability, identifying user needs, analyzing data, and generating reports to recommend IT solutions for informed decision-making. The position requires resolving IT queries independently, escalating complex issues when necessary, and providing accurate information to staff. It also entails training and advising end-users on IT services, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring adherence to IT standards and procedures. Furthermore, the role includes mentoring junior IT staff, supporting the implementation of new applications, and developing standard technical and user-facing documentation. Continuous improvement of IT methods and processes is essential, as is coordinating the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems. A significant aspect is managing and coordinating an IT team, ensuring individual and collective objectives are met in line with organizational policies, and following emergency intervention procedures when required.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of six years of experience in managing complex technology units, demonstrating tangible results. This includes significant involvement in project management, supporting organizational changes with technological solutions, and implementing IT solutions.
