Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (Markets) will support the WFP Country Office in Haiti by focusing on the monitoring of food markets, analysis of price trends, and assessment of the cost of the food basket. This role is crucial for generating evidence-based analysis to guide programme design and inform decision-making. The incumbent will contribute to market monitoring systems, support price monitoring for the Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) programme, and participate in analyses of the Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) and Essential Needs (ECMEN). Key responsibilities include regular monitoring of food prices in Haitian markets, analyzing the cost of the Minimum Food Basket (MFB), and reporting on monthly variations. The role also involves supporting price monitoring for HGSF and contributing to data collection and analysis for microfinance institutions. The Programme Associate will assist in preparing analytical reports, dashboards, and presentations on market trends, food basket costs, and purchasing power, and will contribute to developing tools and methodologies for market monitoring and vulnerability analysis.
