Job Purpose

The position also entails supervising financial file organization and timely processing of FACE and partner payments, participating in technical committees, and collaborating with other organizational units.
Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of implementing partners. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial data and information, preparing reports, and conducting targeted audits for these partners. This involves reviewing partner legalizations according to established procedures and providing effective financial review support under WFP guidelines. The role also entails monitoring the performance of partner reviews, offering recommendations for optimization, and providing feedback on effectiveness and areas for improvement. A significant aspect of the job is supervising the timely accounting of transactions and maintaining financial records in compliance with public sector accounting standards and IPSAS for implementing partners. This includes managing monthly provisions, reclassifying expenses, and overseeing monthly closing procedures. The assistant will prepare monthly financial reports for government resources, conduct cost analyses, and manage specific government agreement tasks. They will also monitor expense reconciliations against bank statements, provide technical assistance for financial control, budgeting, and payments to partners, and oversee the organization of financial files in SharePoint. Furthermore, the role involves supervising the timely management of FACE forms and partner payments, participating in relevant technical committees, and collaborating with other organizational units to resolve complex issues. Promoting human rights and gender equality within their area of influence is also a responsibility, along with performing other related duties.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial areas, with at least three years specifically in finance, budgeting, or related fields. Experience working with United Nations agencies is desirable. Advanced proficiency in computer use, particularly with spreadsheets and database software, as well as word processors, is essential.
