Responsibilities
The Data Science Officer in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, plays a crucial role in strengthening the World Food Programme's (WFP) capacity to manage, analyze, and communicate operational data. This position supports WFP Haiti's mission to provide timely and reliable information for operational planning, prioritization, targeting, monitoring, and decision-making amidst a complex humanitarian crisis. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining information management systems, dashboards, and analytical tools to support evidence-based decision-making across various WFP units and field offices. The officer will ensure data quality assurance, maintain datasets and code repositories, and document methodologies for reproducibility. A significant part of the role involves designing and implementing data science and automation projects to address operational needs, such as targeting, vulnerability analysis, and reporting automation. This includes performing geospatial analyses and providing technical support and capacity building to colleagues and partners on data management and visualization tools.
