Job Purpose

The Monitoring Assistant (SC4) in Miragoane, Haiti, plays a critical role in supporting WFP's mission to improve food and nutritional security. This position is essential for ensuring the effective implementation and impact of WFP programs by acting as a primary liaison between WFP, beneficiaries, partners, and local communities. The role involves actively supporting partners in program execution, gathering vital field information on food assistance distribution, partner activities, challenges encountered, and beneficiary feedback. The Monitoring Assistant is responsible for overseeing WFP activities on the ground, assessing their impact, and ensuring that expected results are achieved. This includes verifying access to assistance, understanding beneficiary utilization, and guaranteeing the smooth progression of activities, ultimately contributing to WFP's goal of saving lives and building a pathway to peace and stability.

Responsibilities

The Monitoring Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the World Food Programme's (WFP) operations in Haiti, acting as a key liaison between WFP, beneficiaries, partners, and communities. This position is crucial for ensuring the effective implementation and impact of food assistance programs. The responsibilities include actively supporting partners in program execution, gathering essential information on food distribution, partner activities, challenges, and beneficiary feedback. The role involves supervising WFP activities in the field, assessing their impact, and ensuring that intended project outcomes are achieved. This requires close communication with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit and program units, assisting in data entry and analysis, and supplementing this with field-based insights. The Monitoring Assistant is responsible for implementing the country office's M&E strategy, adhering to organizational standards, and fostering strong partnerships with beneficiaries and cooperating partners. Key duties involve collecting outcome, process, and output data through various monitoring methods, ensuring program implementation aligns with field agreements, and conducting regular quality checks on data. Furthermore, the role includes analyzing and reporting on collected data, participating in review meetings, and providing feedback to beneficiaries on actions taken. The position also supports data collection for reviews and evaluations and undertakes other tasks as assigned, particularly during emergencies, to ensure the smooth functioning of activities.

Work Experience

Requires a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or humanitarian project implementation. General knowledge of WFP's monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is an advantage.
