Job Purpose
The Field Monitor (SSA 4) will play a crucial role in implementing the country office's Monitoring, Assessment, and Reporting (RAM) strategy and planning. Under the direct supervision of the RAM Unit Head, this position is responsible for supporting data collection, monitoring field activities, and regularly reporting information. The role involves close collaboration with functional teams and implementing partners to ensure effective program delivery and timely feedback. Key responsibilities include monitoring food and non-food prices, tracking food and cash-based distribution performance, overseeing health center performance, managing the complaints mechanism, liaising with internal counterparts, and supporting RAM team activities, including training and workshops.
Responsibilities
The Field Monitor (Moniteur terrain) position, based in Tadjourah, Djibouti, is a 3-month contract under the direct supervision of the RAM Unit Head. This role is crucial for implementing the country office's Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation (RAM) strategy. Key responsibilities include supporting data collection, monitoring field activities, and regularly reporting information in close collaboration with functional teams and implementing partners. Specific tasks involve collecting food and non-food item prices to track price evolution and product availability, monitoring planned food and CBT distributions to identify and report any issues, and overseeing the performance of health centers. The Field Monitor will also manage the Complaints Feedback Mechanism (CFM), relaying beneficiary and partner feedback to relevant units for timely decision-making. Additionally, the role requires liaising with internal counterparts for effective collaboration, supporting the RAM team in organizing training and workshops, and performing other related tasks as needed. The position requires a secondary school diploma and at least four years of progressive experience in monitoring, research, or evaluations, with strong data collection and analysis skills, database proficiency, and knowledge of food security and nutrition programs. Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a dynamic environment are essential.
