Job Purpose
The Security Guard will be responsible for controlling access to WFP premises, ensuring the safety and security of staff, visitors, and property. This role involves monitoring entry points, screening individuals and belongings, and issuing passes to maintain accurate records. The Security Guard will conduct regular checks of the premises to prevent fire, water damage, or the presence of dangerous objects, adhering strictly to WFP security and safety procedures. In the event of an incident or emergency, the Security Guard will promptly alert supervisors and liaise with local authorities to ensure timely support and response, thereby contributing to a secure working environment for all.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to ensure the security and safety of World Food Programme (WFP) premises, staff, and property by controlling entry. This involves meticulously monitoring and regulating access to WFP facilities, which includes screening all individuals and their belongings. A key task is issuing building passes to maintain an accurate record of everyone present on the premises. The role also requires conducting regular and thorough checks of the facilities to prevent potential hazards such as fire, water leakage, or the presence of dangerous objects that could compromise safety or damage property. Immediate reporting of any security breaches or incidents to a supervisor is crucial for prompt action according to established procedures. In emergency situations, the individual must efficiently utilize communication systems to alert supervisors and coordinate with local authorities, including police and fire services, to ensure timely and appropriate support. This position demands a high level of responsibility, alertness, and the ability to remain calm and act decisively during emergencies, while also maintaining effective communication and working harmoniously with a diverse range of people.
Work Experience
Requires two or more years of experience in a security-related field.
