Job Purpose
The Storekeeper will be responsible for supporting warehousing operations within the Logistics Cluster in Port Sudan. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of partners' cargo, maintaining zero discrepancies in inventory and documentation. The Storekeeper will implement measures to safeguard commodities, conduct regular stock inspections, and assist in physical inventories to ensure data integrity and compliance with WFP standards. Additionally, the position involves maintaining warehouse cleanliness, safety, and security, providing excellent customer service to partners, and supervising warehouse staff. The Storekeeper plays a key role in facilitating efficient logistics operations by maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring all warehouse documentation is accurate and complete.
Responsibilities
This role is crucial for supporting warehousing operations within the Logistics Cluster in Sudan, specifically in Port Sudan. The primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of partners' cargo. This includes the timely receipt, proper stacking, and precise dispatch of goods, aiming for zero discrepancies in inventory and documentation. A key aspect involves safeguarding partner commodities through quality control measures and adherence to established procedures. Maintaining meticulous records of all cargo is essential for data integrity, reporting, and audits. Furthermore, the role requires supervising warehouse staff, including storekeepers, checkers, guards, and porters, to ensure safe and accurate loading and offloading operations. Maintaining complete and accurate warehouse documentation is also a core duty. The role may also involve other assigned duties by the supervisor.
Work Experience
Requires at least four years of experience in related fields. Desired experiences include using logistics databases for reports, managing warehouses with food and non-food items, inventory management, and processing invoices.
