Job Purpose
The SSA Consultant (Vehicle Location Tracking System) will provide crucial technical assistance for the implementation and operationalization of a Vehicle Location Tracking System (VLTS) across seven North-Eastern states in India. This role involves supporting solution customization, reviewing existing processes, and coordinating with state governments to ensure the timely and effective rollout of the VLTS. The consultant will contribute to enhancing the tracking of PDS foodgrains, improving supply chain performance, and reducing costs within the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Key responsibilities include providing technical support for VLTS development, project management, monitoring, systems improvement through data analytics, and capacity building for stakeholders. The objective is to ensure the successful integration and utilization of the VLTS for more efficient and transparent foodgrain distribution.

The role of an SSA Consultant (Vehicle Location Tracking System) involves providing technical assistance for the implementation of a VLTS across seven North-Eastern Indian states. Key responsibilities include supporting system customization, coordinating with state governments, monitoring project milestones, preparing reports, conducting data analysis for supply chain improvements, and developing training materials for stakeholders. The consultant will work under the supervision of government officials and WFP New Delhi, ensuring the effective operationalization and integration of the VLTS for enhanced tracking of foodgrains and overall supply chain performance. This position requires strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in IT, e-governance, or supply chain management being advantageous.
Work Experience
The role requires 1-4 years of progressive professional experience in large-scale technology or e-governance solutions, preferably with government or development agencies. Experience in logistics/supply chain operations, particularly with GIS mapping and GPS-based tracking systems/IoT solutions, is beneficial. Additionally, experience in MIS design, development, and data-driven decision-making is expected. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision in ambiguous situations is also a requirement.
