Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistant (SC4) plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of WFP programs in Gonaives, Haiti. This position serves as a vital link between WFP, its partners, and the beneficiary communities, facilitating direct communication and gathering essential field information. The incumbent will support program partners in delivering food assistance, monitor the progress of WFP activities, identify implementation challenges, and collect beneficiary feedback. A key responsibility is to track the impact of interventions and ensure that expected project outcomes are achieved. The role requires close collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit and program teams, contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting to enhance program quality and inform decision-making.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring Assistant plays a crucial role in the World Food Programme (WFP) by serving as a direct communication link between WFP, its beneficiaries, partners, and communities. This position is vital for ensuring the effective implementation of WFP's programs on the ground. Key responsibilities include supporting partners in program execution, reporting on food aid delivery, partner activities, implementation challenges, and beneficiary feedback. The assistant monitors the progress and impact of WFP activities to assess food access, understand beneficiary utilization of aid, and ensure smooth field operations, ultimately verifying that project objectives are met. This involves maintaining regular communication with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and program units, and assisting in data entry and analysis with field-level insights. The role requires adherence to WFP's monitoring and evaluation standards, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Corporate Results Framework (CRF). Building and maintaining strong relationships with beneficiaries, cooperating partners, and third-party monitors is essential. The Monitoring Assistant also integrates cross-cutting issues like gender, equity, and protection into monitoring work, proposes improvements to field monitoring processes, and ensures data quality through regular checks. They are responsible for collecting, verifying, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting on outcome, process, and output data, including distribution monitoring and post-distribution surveys, and ensuring timely data entry into WFP's management tools.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of relevant work experience is required.
