Job Purpose
The Logistics Coordination and Partnership Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the humanitarian response in Palestine, specifically within the Gaza Crisis context. This position, based in Amman, Jordan, will serve as the primary liaison for all stakeholders and partners, ensuring effective coordination of logistics operations. The officer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining coordination systems, information platforms, and operational services to support humanitarian partners. This includes providing expert advice on supply chain operations, facilitating inter-agency coordination meetings, assessing logistics capacities and gaps, and ensuring the smooth flow of humanitarian aid through the Jordan Corridor. The role involves managing information, monitoring operations, and contributing to the development of logistics strategies and standard operating procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of aid delivery in a complex emergency environment.
Responsibilities

As the lead agency for the Logistics Cluster, WFP coordinates humanitarian logistics capabilities during large-scale emergencies and natural disasters. The role involves providing leadership and ensuring effective coordination systems, information platforms, and operational services for humanitarian partners in Jordan, particularly in response to the Gaza Crisis. Key responsibilities include offering expert advice and supervision to logistics and supply chain teams, conducting needs assessments, and facilitating inter-agency coordination through regular meetings and communication with stakeholders. The position also entails managing information, monitoring operations, and supporting importation processes. Deliverables include sectoral logistics assessments, strategy development, resource requirement planning, advocacy papers, technical guidance, and activity reports. The role requires strong coordination, leadership, and analytical skills, with a focus on ensuring efficient and adequate logistics operations to support humanitarian aid delivery.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years of relevant postgraduate professional experience, including budget management and monitoring/evaluation. This must include at least 1 year in project/programme coordination and management with supervisory experience, 2 years in emergency response operations (natural disaster/complex emergency) or preparedness projects, and 2 years in supply chain/logistics operations (transport, warehousing, freight forwarding). Essential knowledge includes understanding the international humanitarian response architecture and funding mechanisms.
