Job Purpose
The Digital Innovation Officer will serve as a senior technical advisor, working closely with government counterparts in the Dominican Republic to co-design, implement, and monitor digital transformation initiatives. This role is crucial for aligning digital efforts with national strategies and the WFP Country Strategic Plan. The incumbent will foster multisectoral collaboration, ensuring the sustainability and impact of digital solutions. Key responsibilities include driving the innovation portfolio, supporting project managers with business modeling and resource mobilization, and developing capacity-building programs for public sector staff. The officer will establish KPIs, monitoring frameworks, and report on progress, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver impactful digital transformation projects.
Responsibilities
The Digital Innovation & Business Transformation Officer will act as a senior technical advisor, supporting the Dominican Republic's national digital transformation agenda. This role involves collaborating closely with government counterparts to co-design, implement, and monitor digital initiatives aligned with national strategies and the WFP Country Strategic Plan. A key responsibility is fostering multisectoral collaboration among government, private sector, academia, and international partners to ensure the sustainability and impact of digital solutions. The officer will also drive the innovation portfolio, prioritizing projects, assisting with business modeling, adoption strategies, and resource mobilization. This includes developing and delivering capacity-building programs for public sector staff on digital skills and innovation management, and establishing monitoring frameworks to track progress and impact. The role requires ensuring government ownership of digital solutions, developing knowledge-sharing platforms, and reporting on results and lessons learned. Additionally, the officer must ensure appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks are in place for digital initiatives, engaging relevant authorities early in the project lifecycle. The ultimate goal is to support the Dominican Republic's vision for digital transformation through strategic advisory and hands-on project support, ensuring long-term viability and impact.
Work Experience
Requires at least 8 years of progressive international experience in digital transformation, technology, innovation, or start-up leadership. Relevant experience in both private and public sectors is necessary.
