Job Purpose
The Full-stack Developer will be instrumental in advancing the School Meals Coalition's Data and Monitoring Initiative (DMI), hosted by WFP. The developer will contribute to the software development of the database, including front-end improvements and back-end development, ensuring data security and facilitating data analysis. Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Full-stack Developer for an 11-month consultancy role in Rome, Italy, to support the School Meals Coalition's Data & Monitoring Initiative (DMI). This initiative aims to enhance the collection, accessibility, and utilization of data on national school meal programs globally, fostering evidence-based decision-making. The developer will be instrumental in advancing the WFP's Global Database on School Meals and developing a new data architecture that empowers national governments in data reporting. Key responsibilities include assisting with data integration, processing, dashboard creation, and visualizations. The role also involves deploying and maintaining the SMC Database and its underlying data layers, supporting infrastructure, and contributing to the harmonization of development tools and patterns. The developer will ensure code maintenance, system management through automation, and effective deployment strategies, while also performing other required duties. Deliverables include further development of the database's back-end and front-end, proposing user interface improvements, contributing to database infrastructure maintenance and security, and conducting data analysis.
Work Experience
Requires at least 4 years of experience in an IT-related field, with a specific focus on React, Python, and AWS technologies.
