Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (VAME) SC6 will serve as the Area Office VAME lead, overseeing specialized monitoring, assessment, and reporting activities. This role involves providing technical support for programme implementation, coordinating evidence generation, and ensuring alignment with WFP policies and standards. The incumbent will manage data, conduct analysis, and prepare reports to support evidence-based decision-making. Key responsibilities include coordinating with cooperating partners, Third-Party Monitors (TPMs), and internal units to ensure coherent programme implementation and reporting. The role also entails capacity strengthening of staff and partners, supervising support staff, and contributing to emergency preparedness and response efforts. The Programme Associate will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of WFP's monitoring and evaluation processes within the assigned area.
Responsibilities
The role involves serving as the Area Office VAME (Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping) lead, overseeing specialized monitoring, assessment, and reporting activities. Key responsibilities include providing technical support for program implementation and monitoring, ensuring alignment with WFP policies and standards. This includes coordinating evidence generation, implementing standardized VAME processes, and offering technical guidance to monitoring staff. The position requires accurate data management, analysis, and reporting, contributing to key assessments and preparing analytical reports to support decision-making. Coordination with internal units, cooperating partners, Third-Party Monitors (TPMs), and other agencies is crucial for coherent program implementation. The role also entails leading TPM planning, coordination, and oversight, supervising TPM outputs, and representing WFP in field missions. Furthermore, capacity strengthening of staff and partners through training and coaching is expected, along with supervising junior staff. The job holder will also resolve operational queries, support emergency preparedness, and recommend process improvements.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 6 years of work experience in Programme, Monitoring and Evaluation, data management, and field monitoring.
