Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (Resilience and Food Systems) will support the WFP Jalalabad Area Office in Afghanistan by contributing to the efficient implementation of resilience and food security programs. This role is crucial for enhancing climate-adaptive interventions and livelihoods. The associate will manage and organize program information, track data, and monitor financial expenditures to ensure effective resource utilization and alignment with donor and program priorities. Key responsibilities include supporting program planning, facilitating knowledge management, coordinating operational updates, and contributing to timely and accurate reporting. The position aims to strengthen budget oversight, enhance program visibility, and support institutional learning within the Resilience and Food Systems Unit.
Responsibilities
This role is crucial for the Resilience and Food Systems (RFS) Unit in Afghanistan, focusing on enhancing climate-adaptive food security and livelihood interventions. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient programme implementation through meticulous data management, programme tracking, financial monitoring, and reporting. The position involves maintaining organized records, databases, and programme information for effective knowledge management. It requires systematic data management and reporting to boost programme visibility and institutional learning. Monitoring programme funding, tracking expenditures, and ensuring effective resource utilization are vital. The role also supports budget analysis, grant management, and coordination with relevant teams to strengthen oversight and accountability. Facilitating programme planning by consolidating operational updates and supporting the review of implementation plans are essential. Additionally, the position aids in mission planning and coordination, gathering inputs from field teams, and maintaining an updated mission schedule. It involves coordinating the collection, validation, and consolidation of programme updates for periodic reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of key reports. Supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives and learning events to enhance programme impact is also part of the duties. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and coordination skills, with proficiency in data management and reporting tools. Experience with WFP operational systems and a good understanding of the WFP Programme cycle are desirable.
