The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) HR team supports 14 offices, partnering with managers to implement talent management solutions aligned with corporate priorities and navigating organizational change.
Job Purpose
The Learning & Development Specialist will play a crucial role in strengthening people management capabilities and preparing the workforce for current and future organizational needs within the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO). This position involves designing, implementing, and monitoring regional capacity development, career management, and transition programs, ensuring alignment with WFP's strategy and talent priorities. The specialist will lead the Regional Coaching Initiative, fostering a coaching culture to support leadership, accountability, and people development. Additionally, they will conduct Learning Needs Assessments (LNAs) to identify capability gaps and develop strategic L&D action plans. The role also entails coordinating innovative initiatives to promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the region, contributing to enhanced performance and employee engagement.

The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) HR team supports 14 offices, partnering with managers to implement HR and Talent Management solutions aligned with WFP's strategic priorities. In response to global changes, WFP emphasizes efficiency and strategic focus, with HR playing a crucial role in supporting these transformations. The Learning and Development Consultant will contribute to these efforts by designing and implementing capacity development programs, managing career transitions, and leading strategic coaching initiatives. This role involves conducting learning needs assessments, developing action plans, and coordinating regional learning and development activities to foster a culture of continuous learning and engagement across the region.
Work Experience
Requires 5-10 years of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources, with a focus on Learning and Development (L&D) and an interest in international humanitarian development. Experience in organizational or regional L&D, certified coaching, conducting Learning Needs Assessments (LNAs) and developing L&D action plans (preferably with WFP methodology), designing leadership development programs, and coordinating change initiatives is essential. Project coordination or management experience is also needed.
