Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the effective delivery of WFP's assistance programs by conducting essential monitoring activities within designated operational areas. Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct monitoring activities within a designated area to ensure the effective delivery of assistance packages. This involves verifying the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, promptly reporting any issues or discrepancies to a supervisor to ensure adherence to WFP standards in terms of quantity and quality. The role also requires maintaining accurate information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as commodity movement records and programme checklists, to support efficient delivery. Additionally, the position involves collating data from assistance programmes to aid in programme reviews and informed decision-making. A key aspect is liaising with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback for service improvement and to identify programmatic issues. The role includes providing guidance to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices and monitoring tools, preparing field mission reports, and adhering to emergency response procedures for food assistance. Fluency in English and Myanmar, along with working knowledge of at least one regional Myanmar language, is essential. Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and familiarity with WFP systems are also required.
Work Experience
Requires at least four years of progressively responsible experience in Monitoring and Evaluation. Must have experience analyzing program output and outcome data. General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is also necessary.
