Responsibilities
The Programme Associate, under the supervision of the Programme Associate at Area Offices and guidance from the Head of Area Office, is responsible for a range of duties focused on program support and administrative management. Key responsibilities include meticulously reviewing and verifying payment claims from Cooperating Partners (CPs) for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to contractual terms. This involves checking supporting documents like invoices and receipts to ensure expenses are valid and eligible, and tracking expenditures against budgets. The role also involves acting as an alternate focal point for Cash-Based Transfers (CBT), Information Management (IDM), and CP management, assisting with benchmark enhancements, budget reviews, and Field Level Agreements (FLAs). Field visits are essential for providing technical assistance and training to CPs and WFP staff on cash transfer program implementation. Additionally, the Associate supports finance and administration staff to ensure compliance with WFP policies, oversees facility management and maintenance, and acts as an HR focal point by compiling data for staff entitlements.
