Job Purpose
The Construction Project Supervisor (SSA6) will be responsible for overseeing construction projects to ensure they meet acceptable standards and the highest quality, in accordance with WFP contracts. This role serves as the primary point of contact for construction management and supervision of all activities related to new facility construction at assigned project locations, requiring constant presence on-site. The supervisor will manage and coordinate construction work, liaise with contractors and third parties, review designs, verify completed work, and maintain comprehensive site records. Key responsibilities include providing guidance to contractors, evaluating proposals, monitoring project progress, preparing technical reports, managing cash flow, processing invoices, and ensuring adherence to quality, health, and safety standards. The role also involves advising on contractor payments, managing variations, and assisting with final accounts and audits, all while ensuring compliance with WFP's engineering standards and local working methods.

This includes establishing and maintaining project performance monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems. Financial tasks involve advising on contractor payments, processing invoices, and preparing payment certifications. Quality control is crucial, requiring the establishment of quality assurance procedures, continuous inspection of materials and workmanship, and ensuring compliance with specifications. The supervisor must also ensure strict adherence to international health and safety standards on-site, reporting any serious breaches and weekly incidents. The role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of working in fast-paced environments with limited resources.
Work Experience
Requires 3-4 years of relevant experience in construction engineering. Desired skills include excellent written and oral communication in Spanish and English, proficiency in MS Outlook, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and AutoCAD.
