Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant (RAM) will coordinate and execute monitoring activities within a designated coverage area to support the effective delivery of assistance packages. This involves verifying the distribution of food or non-food items, resolving routine issues, and escalating complex ones. The role requires collecting and compiling data on assistance programs, collaborating with cooperating partners, and preparing analytical reports to inform program reviews and decision-making. Maintaining communication with partners and stakeholders is crucial for gathering feedback and improving services. The incumbent will also suggest improvements to field monitoring processes, organize meetings with community leaders and partners on supply chain and distribution matters, and provide guidance and training to other staff and cooperating partners on WFP's operational practices and monitoring tools.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to coordinate and execute monitoring activities within a designated coverage area to support the effective delivery of assistance packages. This involves verifying the movement and distribution of food and non-food items, resolving routine issues, and escalating complex ones. The role requires collecting and compiling data on assistance programs, analyzing this information, and preparing reports to inform program reviews and decision-making. Maintaining communication with cooperating partners and stakeholders is crucial for gathering feedback and improving services. Additionally, the position involves suggesting enhancements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient program implementation. Organizing regular meetings with community leaders and partners to discuss supply chains, distribution arrangements, and food entitlement issues is also a key duty. The role may also include assigning tasks, providing guidance, and training to other staff, as well as delivering standard training to cooperating partners on WFP's monitoring practices and tools to foster self-monitoring and enhance WFP's visibility. Preparing field mission reports and adhering to emergency intervention procedures for food assistance are also expected responsibilities.
Work Experience
Requires 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience in data collection on products and program effects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, and communicating findings is also desired. Familiarity with WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is a plus.
