Job Purpose
The Programme Policy Officer (KOICA Project Coordinator) will oversee the implementation of the "Promoting Health and Nutrition through School Feeding in Northern Côte d’Ivoire" project, funded by KOICA, and support Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) initiatives at the Country Office level. This role is crucial for aligning with the WFP Country Strategic Plan and advancing the national school feeding strategy, with a focus on transitioning to sustainable HGSF models. The coordinator will manage project activities, ensure compliance with WFP and KOICA standards, and lead the design and implementation of HGSF pilot frameworks. Responsibilities include coordinating across various units, monitoring project progress, establishing quality standards, and contributing to resource mobilization. Responsibilities
The Home-Grown School Feeding Project Coordinator will be responsible for the comprehensive management and implementation of the "Promoting Health and Nutrition through School Feeding in Northern Côte d’Ivoire" project, funded by KOICA. This role involves leading the design and execution of a Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) pilot framework, including developing standard operating procedures and scalable models to ensure quality and consistency. The coordinator will monitor project progress against work plans and budgets, implementing corrective actions as needed. A key responsibility is coordinating with various internal units, such as School Feeding, Resilience, Nutrition, and Partnerships, to ensure integrated and timely project delivery. The position also requires establishing and enforcing quality standards for HGSF activities and contributing to concept notes and funding proposals for resource mobilization. Furthermore, the coordinator will manage partnerships with KOICA and evaluation teams, representing WFP Côte d’Ivoire and ensuring effective donor relations and reporting. This includes facilitating field visits and streamlining expectations with project donors. A significant aspect of the role involves knowledge management and advocacy, where the coordinator will design methodologies to synthesize lessons learned from HGSF initiatives into practical knowledge products. This includes capturing and documenting best practices and innovations to support replication and scale-up, facilitating internal learning processes, and disseminating evidence to strengthen WFP’s positioning and resource mobilization efforts.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience, preferably in international development or humanitarian work. Experience in project management, particularly for school feeding activities, is advantageous. Prior experience with government bodies, UN agencies, or NGOs is also considered a plus.
