Job Purpose
The Finance and Management Services Officer (NOA) in Jordan will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing the Finance and Management Services within the WFP Jordan Country Office. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining strong financial stewardship, and ensuring strict compliance with WFP regulations and corporate systems. The officer will play a key part in supporting programme implementation by managing budgets, conducting financial assessments of service providers, and preparing accurate financial reports. Responsibilities
The Finance and Management Services Officer will be responsible for leading and coordinating all finance and management services within the WFP Jordan Country Office. This includes ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining strong financial stewardship, and strict compliance with WFP regulations and corporate systems. Key duties involve overseeing the financial assessment and due diligence of service providers, contributing to country-specific strategic planning, and accurate financial reporting. The role requires diligent monitoring of budgets, forecasting for projects, and managing cash, bank reconciliations, disbursements, receivables, and monthly financial closures. Additionally, the officer will ensure effective delivery of core administrative services, such as facilities management, contracts, assets, fleet, and protocol, promoting efficiency and value for money. This includes identifying resource requirements for operational efficiency and maintaining stakeholder relationships with UN agencies and government entities. The position also involves collating and analyzing financial and resource data for management decision-making, strengthening internal controls, supporting risk assessments, and mitigating audit and financial risks. A crucial aspect is supervising and developing junior staff, supporting UN reform initiatives, and adhering to emergency preparedness practices. The role demands a client-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in corporate systems, with fluency in both English and Arabic being essential.
Work Experience
Requires over 5 years of finance experience, including at least 1 year of hands-on professional experience. Additionally, over 2 years of experience in management services (Administration) is necessary. Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention to detail skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in financial controls, risk management, compliance, client orientation, communication, and digital tools is also required.
