Job Purpose

The Aviation Safety Associate (G6) will serve as the focal point for aviation safety within WFP's Haiti operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of air services by providing technical, administrative, and operational support. The incumbent will be instrumental in implementing and enhancing the Aviation Safety Programme and the Air Emergency Response Plan. Key responsibilities include managing hazard identification, incident reporting, risk assessment, and the dissemination of safety information. This position directly contributes to upholding WFP's aviation safety standards, mitigating risks, and supporting the overall mission of saving lives and changing lives through reliable and secure air operations.

Responsibilities

The Aviation Security Associate (G6) serves as the focal point for aviation security within the Haiti field aviation operation. This role is crucial for supporting the Aviation Security Programme and the Air Emergency Response Plan, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to WFP's aviation security standards. Key responsibilities include implementing and enhancing security programmes and procedures, managing event and hazard notification processes, and coordinating safety risk assessments and mitigation measures. The associate will maintain accurate aviation security records and databases, facilitate the sharing of security information with operators and stakeholders, and support security meetings and briefings. Additionally, the role involves providing security support for air and ground operations, liaising with airport authorities and service providers, and compiling data to support decision-making. The position requires a strong understanding of aviation safety, risk management, and emergency preparedness, contributing to the safe and effective delivery of air services in a challenging environment.
