Job Purpose
The IT Solutions Assistant (G5) will provide high-quality technical support and maintenance for IT systems and data across various domains, ensuring the efficient delivery of IT services. This role involves performing system maintenance, monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization, as well as maintaining technological equipment, including standard repairs and configuration, adhering to data security standards. The assistant will also manage inventory and archiving of digital assets, distribute tasks among colleagues, and respond to technology-related requests to support WFP staff. Additionally, the position includes providing standard training to end-users, deploying hardware and software, maintaining information records, and ensuring the operation and maintenance of telecommunications systems. The role also supports the development of training materials and web content, proposes process improvements, and assists in emergency response procedures, contributing to the overall effectiveness of WFP's IT infrastructure and operations in Haiti.
Responsibilities
The IT Solutions Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of IT services by providing high-quality technical support and maintaining systems and data. Key responsibilities include performing system maintenance tasks such as monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization to ensure smooth operation and user-friendliness. This involves maintaining technological equipment through standard repairs, configuration, and storage, adhering to data security and access control standards. The role also entails preparing files and systems for inventory and archiving, ensuring information accuracy and currency, and managing website content and directories. Additionally, the assistant will distribute tasks among colleagues, ensuring adherence to agreed standards and deadlines, and respond to various technology and system-related requests to support WFP staff. They will also provide standard training to end-users on technologies and systems, conduct routine deployments of server hardware and software, and maintain records of information like web pages and statistical databases. The position requires installing, operating, and maintaining telecommunication systems and equipment, supporting the development of standard materials such as training documentation and web content, and proposing improvements to IT service methods and processes. Finally, the assistant must apply established emergency response processes and procedures as needed to support emergency food assistance.
Work Experience
Requires five (5) years of experience in digital solutions and data management.
