Job Purpose
The Digital & Innovation Officer will partner with business units to understand their needs and operating environment, transforming these requirements into effective IT solutions. This role involves capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders for shared understanding and successful implementation. The officer will manage the lifecycle of IT solutions, from initial concept through testing and implementation, ensuring alignment with business needs and service level agreements. Key responsibilities include managing change, conducting user satisfaction surveys, developing business cases, identifying risks, and adhering to established IT project management and business analysis processes to ensure efficient and effective delivery of IT services that enhance business satisfaction.
Responsibilities
The role involves partnering with business units to understand their needs and operational context, translating these into effective IT solutions. Key responsibilities include capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements using various methods like diagrams and flowcharts, ensuring alignment with WFP's policies and strategies. This involves clear communication with business counterparts to foster a shared understanding and facilitate successful implementation. The role also entails managing the lifecycle of business requirements, from initial capture through to implementation, including change management. Testing and analyzing IT solutions to verify their accuracy against requirements is crucial. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with business stakeholders is essential for meeting their needs effectively. Furthermore, the role requires managing the IT service catalog, ensuring service levels align with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and conducting business satisfaction surveys. It also includes managing project-related aspects such as estimates, business cases, planning, risk identification, and issue resolution to ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions, all while adhering to established processes and templates for Business Relationship Management, Business Analysis, and IT Project Management.
Work Experience
Candidates require an advanced university degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or a secondary school education with at least five years of relevant experience. Desired experience includes analyzing technical issues, re-designing business processes or applications, and conducting cost-benefit analyses. Fluency in English and the duty station's language is also required.
