Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The role involves supporting the delivery of efficient and effective Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications (TC) services to enable staff in providing food assistance. Key responsibilities include assisting with the budgeting, planning, and deployment of IT/TC systems aligned with business needs and WFP standards. This entails maintaining these systems and networks, ensuring data security and access controls, and supporting users to maximize their benefits. The role also requires installing and configuring hardware, supporting technology upgrades, and providing data for the procurement of IT/TC equipment and services in compliance with WFP regulations. Additionally, the position involves preparing reports on IT/TC investments and costs, developing technical skills, and staying updated on industry developments. Responding to user queries, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to IT policies are crucial. The role may also involve guiding junior staff, supporting capability building through training programs, and coordinating with other UN agencies for potential collaboration in IT and Telecommunications. Emergency preparedness, including maintaining basic IT services and deploying resources during crises, is also a part of the responsibilities. The position is based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Work Experience
A university degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a secondary school education with at least three years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Desired experiences include assisting with ITIL service management systems, performing user support, and aiding in the specification and evaluation of client standards.
