Job Purpose
The Donor Review Manager will be responsible for the centralized management and coordination of formal donor reviews within WFP's Risk Management Division. This role is critical for ensuring WFP's compliance with corporate requirements and maintaining strong relationships with government partners and the donor community. The incumbent will lead the end-to-end process of donor reviews, from documentation collection and quality assurance to deadline management and resolution of findings. This includes supervising a team, managing prioritization based on risk, representing the unit in various forums, and analyzing review outcomes to recommend process improvements. The position also involves providing expert advice on donor review clauses during agreement drafting and developing standardized guidelines, SOPs, and knowledge management tools to enhance efficiency and mitigate WFP's risk exposure.
Responsibilities
The Donor Review Manager role at the World Food Programme (WFP) involves centrally managing and coordinating formal donor reviews. This includes leading the end-to-end process, ensuring adherence to corporate requirements, and identifying key stakeholders. The manager is responsible for collecting supporting documentation, supervising its quality for accuracy and consistency, and managing deadlines. They will keep donor representatives and WFP divisions informed throughout the review process and lead post-review resolution efforts. A key responsibility is leading, motivating, and coaching a team of donor review analysts, prioritizing reviews based on importance and risk. The role also entails representing the unit in internal and external meetings, analyzing review findings to recommend process improvements, and enhancing the Donor Review Database. Additionally, the manager will provide technical advice on donor reviews, including input on donor agreement clauses, and establish consistent standards by developing guidelines, SOPs, and a knowledge management platform. Reporting on review progress and agreeing on risk indicator metrics are also crucial. The goal is to optimize donor review management, ensuring timely and responsive handling of requests, consistency, and support for all involved parties, ultimately contributing to WFP's mission of saving lives and changing them through food assistance.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in audit, accounting, compliance, finance, or risk management. Experience within the WFP or UN system is considered desirable.
