Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The role involves supporting the Logistics Unit by overseeing hub logistics, collecting and analyzing operational data to enhance efficiency, and reporting on findings. Key responsibilities include contributing to logistics plan development, supporting daily operations for effective food assistance delivery, and recommending improvements for local logistics based on data analysis. The position requires close coordination with clearing and forwarding agents, customs authorities, and port officials to ensure timely and cost-effective port operations. It also involves planning and implementing cost-efficient storage and delivery of relief items for partners, ensuring compliance with WFP systems for all stock movements, and conducting financial analysis to optimize fund utilization. Additionally, the role includes guiding support staff, preparing accurate reports for informed decision-making, contributing to capacity building for staff and partners, fostering relationships with logistics colleagues, and supporting emergency logistics preparedness and response efforts. Experience in coordinating service providers, managing supplier deliveries, using integrated web-based systems, evaluating offers, and report writing is desired.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of two years of related professional work experience. An advanced university degree in a relevant field is preferred, but a first university degree with an additional two years of experience and/or training is also acceptable.
