Job Purpose
The Programme Policy Officer (Nutrition) will support policy and programme activities to effectively meet food assistance needs, with a focus on nutrition. This role involves contributing to project development, providing project management support for small to moderate-sized initiatives, and ensuring alignment with WFP's policies and guidance. The officer will maintain rigorous data gathering and monitoring systems, research and analyze policy and operational issues, and contribute to accurate reporting for informed decision-making. Additionally, the position requires liaising with internal counterparts, supporting partnership development for improved food assistance packages, and contributing to capacity building of staff and partners in nutrition-related programming. The position requires an advanced university degree in a relevant field or a first university degree with additional experience, at least one year of postgraduate experience in program implementation, and fluency in English and local languages. Experience in technical programs, program design, and policy discussions is desirable.
Work Experience
Requires at least one year of postgraduate professional experience in planning, designing, and implementing nutrition and public health programs. This experience should be with government, national, or international NGOs.
