Partnership Analyst (open Externally)
Organizational Context
The UNV Field Units (FU) are responsible for mobilizing and placing UN Volunteers in UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes to support peace, development, and humanitarian needs. FUs represent UNV in countries, bringing its services closer to partners including governments, UN entities, civil society, and the private sector. This role is situated within the UNV structure, hosted by UNDP offices, and collaborates closely with the UN Resident Coordinator.
Job Purpose
The Partnership Analyst leads country-level analytical and partnership support to advance UNV's volunteer mobilization agenda. This role strengthens UNV's position as a solutions provider for UN partners, aiming to increase and diversify volunteer mobilization. The incumbent ensures alignment between country-level engagement and UNV's regional and global priorities. The position involves strategic partnership analysis, business intelligence, and operational coordination, including overseeing UN Volunteers supporting Field Unit activities. The role also ensures compliance with UNV and UNDP policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing and sustaining country-level partnerships with UN agencies, governments, and civil society to identify collaboration opportunities and integrate volunteer solutions into program delivery. This involves participating in UN collective planning processes, analyzing cooperation frameworks and strategies to identify entry points for UNV, and assessing partner demand to develop mobilization strategies. The role also entails identifying opportunities for volunteer deployment across development, humanitarian, and peace portfolios, promoting volunteerism through outreach and awareness campaigns, and articulating UNV's value proposition. Additionally, the Partnership Analyst will develop and maintain business intelligence on UN partner mandates, monitor mobilization trends, contribute to adapting regional priorities to country-specific recommendations, and ensure the duty of care for UN Volunteers, including security and well-being. Management responsibilities include developing and managing the Field Unit's annual work plan, budget, and personnel.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience (with a Master's degree) or 4 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required in partnerships, development cooperation, international relations, research, or programme analysis, preferably in humanitarian, development, or peace-related fields. Experience in partnerships, inter-agency collaboration, or stakeholder engagement is essential. Experience in conducting analytical work such as partner mapping, business intelligence, and demand analysis is also required. Proficiency in standard office software and digital collaboration tools is necessary.
