Job Purpose

The Partnerships & Advocacy Officer will support UNOPS initiatives in Pakistan by strengthening donor and stakeholder engagement. This role involves conducting in-depth analysis and research to identify relevant donors, funding opportunities, and strategic alignment within the political, economic, and development context of Pakistan. The Officer will play a crucial role in preparing engagement materials and key messages, liaising with internal colleagues, and ensuring a strong contextual understanding of Pakistan's development landscape and key institutions to effectively support project goals and resource mobilization efforts.

Responsibilities

The UN Volunteer will contribute to developing strategies, proposals, project documents, and concept notes for resource mobilization and donor engagement. Key responsibilities include conducting continuous scanning of the political, economic, and development context to maintain up-to-date donor intelligence and identifying/mapping donor priorities and funding mechanisms. The role involves fostering synergies through outreach and meetings with UN agencies, NGOs, and the private sector, and presenting strategic donor engagement opportunities. Additionally, the Officer will draft and customize resource mobilization materials, develop formal funding documents, and collaborate with the project team to capture project achievements for donor outreach. This includes identifying best practices, ensuring adherence to UNOPS SOPs, and contributing to knowledge networks.

Work Experience

One month of relevant experience is required, including internships, academic projects, or volunteer work in partnership, proposal writing, advocacy, and communications.

Skills

Required competencies include integrity, respect for diversity, creativity, commitment to continuous learning, good communication and teamwork skills, and ICT awareness. Expertise in community development is also noted.
