Its mission is to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, and build resilience. The Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) serves as UNDP's knowledge and advisory center for Europe and Central Asia. The Climate Promise website disseminates communications content on climate change and action.
Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP Climate Hub by enhancing the French content on the Climate Promise website. The primary objective is to increase the availability of French-language materials, including blogs, photo stories, news releases, and country-specific information on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The Online Volunteer will contribute to ensuring that climate change and climate action information is accessible to a wider French-speaking audience, thereby supporting UNDP's communication goals in the region.

The Online Volunteer will edit and proofread website content from English to French, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in language, style, and formatting. Key duties include correcting grammar, spelling, and punctuation; maintaining uniform terminology and tone across all documents; verifying the logical flow and coherence of content; and ensuring correct formatting of references and annexures. The volunteer will coordinate with the team to align editing standards, liaise with the UNDP Climate Hub and Country Offices for content clarification and feedback incorporation, and prepare final versions for publication according to UNDP guidelines.
Work Experience
Prior experience translating development, humanitarian, environmental, or climate-related content is required. A strong understanding of climate change and climate action is essential. Familiarity with UNDP editorial standards and the ability to work with large documents and meet deadlines are also important.
Skills
