Promote Immunization Awareness Across the Western Pacific Region
Organizational Context
The World Health Organization Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WHO WPRO) collaborates with Member States and partners to enhance regional health and well-being. Immunization is a critical public health intervention, preventing numerous deaths and protecting communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. This initiative supports communications efforts leading up to the 77th WHO Regional Committee Meeting in October 2026, focusing on regional immunization priorities through 2030.
Job Purpose
This role aims to support WHO WPRO's regional immunization awareness campaign by mobilizing Online Volunteers to disseminate key messages and foster informed discussions. Volunteers will contribute to raising awareness about the importance of immunization and WHO's regional priorities, such as measles elimination, reducing zero-dose children, strengthening life-course immunization, and increasing vaccine confidence. The objective is to encourage constructive online conversations and promote accurate health information, contributing to improved public health outcomes in the Western Pacific Region.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will share 1-2 posts weekly on personal social media, using provided evidence-based immunization messages or creating original content inspired by them. They will participate in a mandatory virtual orientation and two virtual learning sessions on immunization, vaccine confidence, and countering misinformation. Volunteers will encourage respectful online discussions, promote accurate health information, and track their engagement activities. A Group Coordinator role may be available for additional leadership, including compiling a final report. Volunteers will not provide medical advice.
Work Experience
Required: Strong understanding of social media platforms and the ability to communicate evidence-based health information clearly, engagingly, and appropriately. Active presence on one or more social media platforms is essential. Desirable: Basic knowledge of online community engagement, social media interaction, and responsible digital communication.

Interest in public health, advocacy, or communications is an asset.
