Promote Immunization Awareness Across the Western Pacific Region
Organizational Context
The World Health Organization Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WHO WPRO) collaborates with Member States and partners to enhance regional health and well-being. Immunization is a critical public health intervention, saving millions of lives annually and protecting communities from preventable diseases. This initiative supports WHO's regional immunization priorities through 2030, aiming to accelerate disease elimination, reduce unvaccinated children, strengthen life-course immunization, and promote vaccine confidence.
Job Purpose
This role supports WHO WPRO's regional immunization awareness campaign leading up to the 77th WHO Regional Committee Meeting in October 2026. The Online Volunteer will raise awareness about immunization's importance and foster informed discussions within their communities and online networks. The assignment involves sharing evidence-based messages, creating engaging social media content, and participating in virtual orientation and learning sessions. The goal is to promote WHO's regional immunization priorities, encourage vaccine confidence, and contribute to a healthier Western Pacific Region by disseminating accurate health information and countering misinformation.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will share 1-2 posts weekly on personal social media, using provided WHO messages or creating original content inspired by them. They will participate in a mandatory virtual orientation and two virtual learning sessions on immunization, vaccine confidence, and health communication. Volunteers will encourage respectful online conversations about immunization, promote accurate health information, and track their engagement activities. They will not provide medical advice. Optional Group Coordinators will lead a group, ensure consistent posting, troubleshoot, and manage engagement tracking. A communications toolkit with key messages and guidance will be provided.
Work Experience
Required: Strong understanding of social media platforms and the ability to communicate evidence-based health information clearly and engagingly. Active presence on one or more social media platforms is essential. Desirable: Basic knowledge of online community engagement and responsible digital communication. Experience in public health, communications, or advocacy is an asset.

Strong understanding of social media platforms, effective communication of health information, social media engagement, responsible digital communication, collaboration, ability to follow guidance, and interest in public health or community engagement. Fluency in Indonesian and working knowledge of English are required/desirable respectively.
