Project Development and Reporting Associate
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Caribbean supports governments and partners in addressing migration challenges and opportunities through a comprehensive approach. This includes migration governance, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian action, climate resilience, and sustainable development, with a focus on Small Island Developing States (SIDS). IOM operates on a projectized model, relying on donor funding to implement programs in areas like labor mobility, climate mobility, and disaster displacement, requiring dedicated project development and reporting support.
Job Purpose
This role supports IOM's projectized operations in the Caribbean by contributing to project development and reporting. The Associate will assist in identifying funding opportunities, developing high-quality project proposals, and strengthening partnerships to sustain and expand IOM's program portfolio. Key contributions include supporting technical cooperation with governments, fostering regional coordination, and generating knowledge products. A significant aspect of the role involves supporting reporting requirements for specific projects, such as the ECHO-funded disaster preparedness and response program, ensuring accountability and effective knowledge sharing across the region.
Responsibilities
The Project Development and Reporting Associate will assist in conceptualizing and developing regional initiatives related to migration, climate mobility, and disaster displacement, coordinating with UN agencies and partners. This includes preparing project concept notes, logical frameworks, and donor briefing materials, and supporting technical cooperation with governments to promote safe migration and strengthened governance. The role involves engaging with UN partners, development partners, and donors to enhance collaboration, information sharing, and resource mobilization. The Associate will contribute to IOM's presence at regional forums, fostering strategic partnerships and coordinated action. Additionally, the role supports knowledge generation by assisting in the preparation of research notes, reports, and communication products on migration trends and lessons learned. A key responsibility is supporting the drafting of progress reports and briefing documents for management and donors, particularly for the ECHO-funded program, ensuring visibility of outcomes and results. The Associate will also assist in administering IOM's UNV platform, guiding colleagues and supporting volunteer processes.
Work Experience
Requires one month of experience. Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to two years) in migration, human mobility, displacement, or related development/humanitarian issues, particularly in SIDS, is needed. Experience as a volunteer or in another culture is highly regarded. Strong analytical and writing skills are essential for synthesizing information into reports and presentations. Familiarity with international policy frameworks related to migration or sustainable development is an asset.

Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Canva, or Adobe InDesign is desirable.
