Organizational Context
The UN SDG Action Campaign, hosted by UNDP in Bonn, is a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General. It works to foster a just, equitable, and sustainable world by amplifying underrepresented voices, nurturing changemakers, and using creativity to inspire action. This role supports the Campaign's objective of highlighting changemakers and their contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to enhance the visual quality and storytelling of videos featuring grantees of the 30th Anniversary UN Trust Fund. By editing raw footage and supplementary materials, the volunteer will create compelling short-form videos (1-1.5 minutes each) that increase audience engagement and strengthen digital outreach. The work directly supports the UN SDG Action Campaign's mission to celebrate the UNTF's impact, raise global awareness about efforts to end violence against women and girls, and mobilize action for a more equal and just world.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will edit 15 short-form videos (1-1.5 minutes each) highlighting changemakers, using provided raw footage, visuals, and brand guidelines. Key duties include assembling footage into cohesive stories, incorporating branded graphic elements (titles, logos, transitions) according to UNTF guidelines, and adding accurate captions for accessibility. The role also involves enhancing technical quality through audio cleanup, sound level adjustment, and basic color correction. Maintaining a consistent visual style, tone, and pacing across all videos is crucial. The final edited assets must be delivered in optimized formats suitable for digital outreach and social media distribution.
Work Experience
A strong background in graphic design and proven video editing experience is required. Proficiency in software like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator is essential. Experience in post-production tasks such as color correction, audio mixing, captioning, and graphic integration is necessary. Demonstrated experience in short-form digital storytelling, asset management, and meeting deadlines is also required.
Skills
Advanced proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) and graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator). Strong post-production skills including color correction, audio mixing, and captioning. Ability to integrate graphic elements and maintain brand consistency. Experience in short-form digital storytelling, asset management, and meeting project deadlines. Working knowledge of English is required.
