Graphic Design and Layout Support for Ghana, Togo, and Benin Annual Report
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ghana has been active since 1987, supporting the government's migration management efforts. IOM promotes safe migration, addresses challenges, advances understanding of migration issues, and upholds migrant dignity. As a UN system member, IOM collaborates within the UN Sustainable Development Partnership. The Country Offices in Ghana, Togo, and Benin are preparing their Annual Reports and Info Sheets.
Job Purpose
This role supports the IOM Country Offices in Ghana, Togo, and Benin by providing graphic design and layout services for their upcoming Annual Reports and Info Sheets. The objective is to create high-quality, professional, and visually engaging publications that align with IOM’s global branding standards. The graphic designer will be responsible for the overall layout and design of these crucial communication materials, ensuring they effectively summarize key thematic areas, programme results, and highlights. The assignment involves close coordination with IOM Ghana, Togo, and Benin communications teams, contributing to the clear and impactful dissemination of IOM's work.
Responsibilities
The graphic designer will be responsible for the layout and design of Annual Reports for IOM Ghana, Togo, and Benin, as well as a series of Info Sheets. This includes developing creative design concepts and templates aligned with IOM's global branding guidelines. Tasks involve designing report covers, internal pages, visual elements, and data presentation. The designer will incorporate provided text, photos, charts, and tables, ensuring visual hierarchy, readability, and consistency across all materials. Additionally, the role requires designing visually engaging Info Sheets, potentially using reusable templates, and creating infographics, charts, and visual data representations. Branding compliance, including logo placement and typography, is essential. The designer will also incorporate feedback from IOM focal points and deliver final print-ready and web-optimized files, including source files.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in publication design is required. Demonstrated experience in designing annual reports, info sheets, and institutional publications is essential. Experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, NGOs, or corporate institutions is highly desirable.
Skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required. Strong experience in infographic design, typography, layout, and branding application is necessary. The role also requires strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and efficient incorporation of feedback. Strong communication skills are important. Bilingualism in French and English is desirable.
