Job Purpose

This role supports UNICEF Equatorial Guinea's Communication Section by developing high-quality visual materials to strengthen institutional communication, increase programme visibility, and disseminate key messages. The Online Volunteer will create engaging graphics for various platforms, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's corporate identity. This assignment aims to enhance the visual quality of communication materials, improve the reporting of UNICEF's results and impact, and provide the volunteer with practical experience in graphic design, visual communication, and communication for development within an international organization.

Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will design and produce visual materials under the supervision of the Communication Officer. Key duties include creating engaging infographics for data and message dissemination, developing graphic content for social media (posts, banners, carousels), and designing reports, brochures, and fact sheets according to UNICEF branding guidelines. The role also involves creating materials for campaigns and events, adapting existing content, and producing simple illustrations or icons. Ensuring visual consistency, technical quality, and adherence to UNICEF's visual identity are crucial. The volunteer will incorporate feedback, submit final files, and maintain regular communication for progress monitoring.

Work Experience

Proven experience in graphic design and visual content development for communication, advocacy, or institutional visibility is required. Experience in creating infographics, social media content, reports, brochures, and banners is essential. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop is necessary; knowledge of Canva Pro is an asset. Understanding of branding principles and ability to apply corporate identity standards are also important.

Skills

Key skills include graphic design, visual content development, and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. The ability to transform complex information into clear visual products, strong communication and collaboration skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and meet deadlines are essential. Working knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable.
