Founded in 2005, YPWC educates and informs youth on global issues, inspires action, and encourages participation. Its vision is to provide a 'youthful voice' in global policy formulation and development, addressing challenges faced by young people worldwide through participatory learning and platforms for decision-making.

Job Purpose

YPWC seeks online volunteers to create engaging social media content to enhance its visibility and reach. This role is crucial for connecting with young people on issues ranging from education to employment and health, contributing to SDGs 2, 4, 5, and 8. Volunteers will gain insights into youth development and learn best practices from outgoing volunteers. The assignment is designed for individuals ready to start in September 2026, ensuring a smooth transition and knowledge transfer within the organization's online engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

The role involves creating social media content to promote YPWC's visibility and profile. Key duties include developing social media posts and generating content for various platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram), LinkedIn, Bluesky, and X. Online volunteers are expected to produce a minimum of eight social media posts per platform daily. This task-based assignment requires a commitment of 11-15 hours per week for a duration of 12 weeks, starting in the first week of September.

Work Experience

Experience in social media engagement is required. Desirable experience includes knowledge of online marketing tools and channels, strong writing and editing skills, and experience designing outreach/marketing tools. Proficiency with tools like Canva, short video creation, and WordPress is advantageous. A strong interest in youth development is essential.
