Organizational Context

ONU Mujeres is the UN entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. It leads and coordinates efforts within the UN system to ensure that gender equality commitments are translated into lasting global change. The Global Centre of Excellence on Gender Statistics (CEEG), in partnership with Mexico's INEGI, is a leading platform for innovation in gender statistics, developing methodologies and promoting data use for gender equality and women's rights.

Job Purpose

This assignment seeks a volunteer to support the Global Centre of Excellence on Gender Statistics (CEEG) by providing inputs for mapping alliances that enhance gender statistics. The role involves identifying and analyzing traditional and non-traditional partners from public, private, and international sectors. This strategic initiative offers the volunteer an opportunity to gain experience in international cooperation, understand UN Women's work in gender statistics, innovation, and multi-sectoral partnerships, and contribute to the visibility of the Women Count project in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will support UN Women's Global Centre of Excellence on Gender Statistics (CEEG) in developing strategic inputs for mapping and strengthening alliances. This includes resource mobilization and positioning at regional and global levels for gender statistics, aligned with UN Women's principles and the Women Count project. Key activities involve: 1. Strategic mapping of alliances and funding opportunities: Analyzing context by sector (public, international cooperation, private, academia), identifying strategic positioning and funding objectives for CEEG, and mapping potential partners interested in gender statistics, innovation, and data. 2. Strategic products for resource mobilization: Developing a CEEG value proposition and impact narrative, creating inputs for one-pagers for selected partners, and outlining a roadmap for thematic and partner-specific linkages. 3. Coordination and technical feedback: Participating in regular coordination meetings with CEEG and UN Women Regional Office, and adjusting deliverables based on feedback.

Work Experience

Required: University degree (bachelor's or equivalent) in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Communication, or specific areas related to alliance generation. Desirable: Proven experience in fundraising for Civil Society Organizations, International Organizations, or other institutions for projects involving gender statistics on topics such as care, political participation, climate change, statistical information systems, and femicide.

Skills

Required: University degree in relevant fields. Desirable: Master's degree in related fields. Experience in fundraising for NGOs/IOs for gender statistics projects. Proficiency in Spanish (native) and English (fluent) is required.
