Job Purpose

This role supports the UNV office in Namibia's digital outreach and communication strategy. The Online Volunteer will contribute to increasing the visibility of the communication team's efforts and promoting the Online Volunteering service at the country level. By engaging a wider network, the volunteer will help raise public awareness, strengthen community engagement, and expand the overall reach of the UNV programme in Namibia. The assignment focuses on social media presence and digital engagement to achieve these objectives.

Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will support the UNV office in Namibia's digital outreach activities. Key responsibilities include promoting corporate and local content across various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). This involves developing creative content such as posts, articles, graphics, and short videos tailored for diverse local audiences to raise awareness of relevant messages and stories. The role also entails actively engaging with local organizations and communities to build partnerships and enhance campaign reach. Additionally, the volunteer will support online events like webinars and digital storytelling sessions, and monitor/report on engagement metrics and feedback from outreach activities.

Work Experience

Required experience includes strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of social media platforms. Candidates should possess active accounts on at least three major social media platforms. Desirable experience includes content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management. Fluency in English is mandatory.
