Job Purpose
The UNV office in Burundi is recruiting enthusiastic and creative Online Volunteers to bolster its digital outreach and communication efforts. The primary goal is to amplify the visibility of the communication team's impactful work and to foster the growth and adoption of the Online Volunteering service at the national level. By leveraging a broader network of volunteers, this assignment seeks to elevate public awareness, deepen community involvement, and extend the reach and influence of the UNV programme across Burundi, contributing to peace and development objectives.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will support the UNV office in Burundi with digital outreach activities. Key duties include promoting corporate and local content across various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Volunteers will create engaging content such as posts, articles, graphics, and short videos tailored for diverse local audiences to raise awareness of relevant messages and stories. They will actively engage with local organizations and communities to build partnerships and expand campaign reach. Additionally, volunteers will assist in organizing and participating in online events like webinars and digital storytelling sessions, and will monitor and report on engagement metrics and feedback from outreach activities. Training and resources will be provided.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of social media platforms. Online Volunteers must have active accounts on at least three specified social media platforms. Desirable experience includes content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management. Fluency in English is required; French fluency is a strong asset.
