Job Purpose
This assignment is part of the "She Demines" program, designed to enhance women's involvement in humanitarian mine action in Ukraine. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Trainee role focuses on providing comprehensive training and practical experience in identifying, recognizing, and responding to explosive ordnance. Participants will gain job-ready technical skills aligned with national standards, alongside developing resilience, confidence, and leadership qualities essential for safety-critical fieldwork. The program aims to prepare graduates for employment with state and non-state mine action operators, contributing to a skilled, inclusive, and nationally led workforce for Ukraine's future.
Responsibilities
As an EOD Trainee under the "She Demines" program, participants will fully engage in all modules of the EOD Level 1 training course, conducted at the Humanitarian Demining Training Centre. This involves adhering strictly to safety regulations, operational procedures, and the code of conduct. Trainees are expected to actively participate in theoretical sessions, practical field exercises, and assessments. Maintaining regular attendance and promptly communicating any participation issues to program coordinators is crucial. The role requires demonstrating responsibility, discipline, commitment, and teamwork, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. The training is delivered by experienced specialists with extensive military and humanitarian demining backgrounds.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required for this role. However, candidates should possess a strong motivation to build a career in humanitarian mine action, demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge, and exhibit a high level of responsibility, discipline, and attention to safety procedures. Good communication and teamwork skills, along with physical fitness and resilience in challenging environments, are also important.
