The UNV office in Zimbabwe is seeking Online Volunteers to enhance its digital outreach and communication. Job Purpose

This role supports the UNV office in Zimbabwe with digital outreach and communication efforts. The primary goal is to increase the visibility of the communication team's activities and to drive the growth and adoption of the Online Volunteering service at the country level. By leveraging a wider volunteer network, the initiative aims to raise public awareness, foster stronger community engagement, and expand the UNV programme's presence and impact in Zimbabwe. The Online Volunteers will contribute to raising awareness and strengthening community connections through digital channels.

Responsibilities

Online Volunteers will support the UNV office in Zimbabwe's digital outreach. Key duties include promoting corporate and local content across social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Volunteers will develop creative content such as posts, articles, graphics, and short videos to engage local audiences and highlight relevant messages and stories from Zimbabwe. They will actively engage with local organizations and communities to build partnerships and extend campaign reach. Additionally, volunteers will assist in organizing and participating in online events like webinars and digital storytelling sessions. A crucial aspect involves monitoring and reporting on engagement metrics and feedback from these outreach activities.

Work Experience

Required experience includes strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of social media platforms. Online Volunteers must have active accounts on at least three specified social media platforms. Desirable experience includes content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management.

Skills

Essential skills are strong communication and writing abilities, creativity, and proficiency with social media platforms. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a local language, such as Shona, is considered a strong asset. Desired skills include experience in content creation, graphic design, video editing, and project management.
