In Zambia, the UNV office seeks Online Volunteers to enhance digital outreach, increase visibility of communication team efforts, and grow the Online Volunteering service. This initiative aims to expand public awareness, strengthen community engagement, and broaden the UNV programme's reach within the country.

Job Purpose

The UNV office in Zambia is seeking enthusiastic and creative Online Volunteers to support its digital outreach and communication efforts. This role is crucial for increasing the visibility of the communication team's work and strengthening the growth and adoption of the Online Volunteering service at the country level. By engaging a wider network of volunteers, the initiative aims to significantly raise public awareness about UNV's activities, foster stronger community engagement, and ultimately expand the overall reach and impact of the UNV programme within Zambia. The volunteers will contribute directly to enhancing UNV's online presence and engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

Online Volunteers will support the UNV office in Zambia with digital outreach activities. Key duties include promoting corporate and local content across various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Volunteers will develop creative content ideas, including posts, articles, graphics, and short videos, tailored to engage diverse local audiences and highlight key messages and stories relevant to Zambia. They will actively engage with local organizations and communities to build partnerships and extend campaign reach. Additionally, volunteers will assist in organizing and participating in online events like virtual discussions and webinars, and monitor and report on engagement metrics and feedback from outreach activities. They will report to the Regional Communication Assistant and receive necessary training and resources.

Work Experience

Required experience includes strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of social media platforms. Online Volunteers must have active accounts on at least three major social media platforms. Desirable experience includes content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management. Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of a local language being a strong asset.
