Job Purpose

This role supports the UNV office in Tanzania's digital outreach and communication efforts. The primary purpose is to increase the visibility of the communication team's valuable work and to strengthen the growth and adoption of the Online Volunteering service at the country level. By actively engaging a wider network of volunteers, the position contributes to raising public awareness, enhancing community engagement, and expanding the overall reach and impact of the UNV program in Tanzania. The role is crucial for amplifying UNV's mission and activities through effective digital strategies.

Responsibilities

Support digital outreach activities for the UNV office in Tanzania. This includes promoting corporate and local content across various digital and social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Develop creative content such as posts, articles, graphics, and short videos tailored for diverse local audiences to raise awareness of key messages and stories relevant to Tanzania. Actively engage with local organizations and communities to foster partnerships and expand campaign reach. Organize and participate in local online events, including virtual discussions, webinars, and digital storytelling sessions. Monitor and report on engagement metrics and feedback from outreach activities. Online Volunteers will report to the Regional Communication Assistant and receive necessary training and resources.

Work Experience

Required: Strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a good understanding of social media platforms. Must have active accounts on at least three social media platforms. Desired: Experience in content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management.

Strong communication and writing skills, creativity, proficiency with social media platforms, content promotion, content creation (posts, articles, graphics, videos), community engagement, event support (online), monitoring and reporting. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Kiswahili is a strong asset.
